87 Pizza Donair - Edmonton

The pizza here is fantastic and made fresh, and the owners are genuinely wonderful. They are some of the kindest people I've met at pizza takeout places in the city. The donair pizza, in particular, is exceptional and comes highly recommended. Food rating: 5/5.

The owner was very friendly and suggested trying the Calzone, which comes with a choice of three toppings. I went with donair (donair meat, tomato, and onion), and added a sweet sauce filling as well. The dough of the calzone is rolled quite thin, which gives it a wonderfully crispy texture when it comes right out of the oven. However, if left in the pizza box for a while, it can get soft and a bit soggy. All of the ingredients were fresh and tasty. I did wish the donair sauce was thicker, as it tends to become more liquid when heated. Perhaps having the sauce served on the side would be a better option. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience.

"The service here is excellent, and there's a generous portion of meat in the Donaire. The burger is fresh, and the smoothies are tasty. I ordered the burger with mushrooms, but the sauce had a strong cream of mushroom flavor, which I found to be a bit too much and a little salty for my liking. However, the meat was fantastic. As for the smoothies, the mango flavor was hard to detect, but the tropical smoothie, which is based on pineapple juice, was quite good. The fries were fresh and delicious, and the onion rings were also crispy and well-prepared."

As for parking, it's located in a strip mall, so there's parking available. There are probably around 5 to 10 spots at most, if not more. It looks like most of their business is takeout, but you can also dine in if you prefer.

I recently ordered from this restaurant while looking to try something new, as we've been exploring different places since moving to the area. I was genuinely amazed by how delicious everything was! The poutine reminded me of a beloved spot back home, the pizza was fantastic, and the chicken shawarma was absolutely divine! We also really appreciated the little notes you included; they brightened our day and turned a tough day at work into a joyful one, so thank you for that! I do have one question: is your bread homemade? We can't get over how soft it is and how unique the taste and texture are compared to what we're used to back home!
