I live in leatheruc and drive the 45 minutes to have her sea...bass and lobster sawn sauce. I hope that the owners (which are amazing by the way) stay healthy while this Kovid-Fiasco and cannot wait to come back!
Be here since 2004 and love the food. All house cooked with a real feeling for Italian. There we were to a private wedding, and it was from the cards for food.
My wife, daughter and I have reserved for Valentine's Day/2020 about 3 weeks ago. When we checked in at the reception, the young man, who welcomed us, asked if we had been told about the "fixed menu" if we were to hold back. After we answered... No, he showed us the menu for Valentine's Day. We saw that there was a choice of chicken, pig or basa, all at a fixed price of $60 per dish. We were in Acqua Marina, I think, 2005, and the meal we had at that time was certainly acceptable, although this visit is not subject to the solid menu. I don't think the decor has changed a bit since the first visit, but we were there for the meal, not the decor. What could go wrong? Well, the first course was a choice of tomato soup or salad, and all three of us chose it. Some time after we had been sitting and ordered, a small basket of bread sticks arrived, but no side plate was well provided, on second thought there was exactly a 5 plate that was on the table since our arrival. Maybe we should share it! The salad came to overflow on an 8 plate absolutely tiled, with 5 or 6 mandarin orange sections and maybe over a teaspoon dressing. The salad was good, but had absolutely no surface moisture; the same can be said by the mandarin sections. No one ever came to ask how our 'first bite' were, as it is always done in every restaurant / Pizzaria, that we are often. As for the main course, my wife and daughter had the 'stuffed chicken breast' and I had the 'filo wounded basa'. Both chicken orders were boiled and dry. My basa was wrapped in an oily filo pastry cococon, which I rejected by a one. The vegetable that accompanied my meal was, I'm pretty sure, from a frozen bag, and probably had been sitting in hot water for a very long time. Even the asparagus was a lavish mess, and the cauliflower fought to preserve its shape. The baby carrots had a funny taste with a cursed bloom to them, and they ended next to the discarded Filo-Teig. Again, no server came to ask how it was. I noticed that the owner/the Maitre 'd managed to talk to people at some selected tables, I can only assume that these people were friends of her, I think the rest of us was not important. This woman told us nothing until we were gone, and then it was just a pretty flood 'Thank you!' When my wife and I were there in 2005, we got a small glass of ice-cold grappa, which was very nice at the end of the dinner. Yesterday, half a liter of wine for $19.95 was the only decent point we received all night. When we offered the desert menu (yes, extra) we went back! We had included our second daughter, her husband and our 18-month grandchild in the reservation, but now we are grateful that they could not participate as there was absolutely nothing that he or our vegetarian son could have eaten in the law. I guess if it's done, we'd just have gone somewhere else. It's 'our bad' that we don't! I wish I had read the reviews on Tripadvisor before we left. Acqua Marina can have some decent 'a la carte' meals, but its solid menu leaves much to wish. There is another review on Tripadvisor from 14. February 2019, and the experience of this party was very similar to us. But they went, and I wish we had it! Our bill came to $199.95 (3 people, again) x 1.05 $209.95. We gave the minimum tip only because of the young man who welcomed us on arrival, and he was mostly our server. We expected more of Aqua Marina and we will not be there for the third time!
We went to a friend's recommendation. It was my men 65. Birthday, so wanted a special culinary experience. The waiting staff/ovner was attentive, helpful/ friendly and the food was excellent. All hand prepared. The tomato soup is a must for you tomato soup... The Kalamari was also great. We had basa and calf with pasta and tomato sauce. All right. Tirimasu was scared. Would recommend this restaurant without hesitation
We went to Acqua Marina for supper on a Sunday night and were blown away by the food! Calamari appetizer was delicious and we all shared the lasagna, the ravioli, and the chicken alfredo. Homemade pasta in amazing sauce. Complimentary bread and great service topped...up a wonderful experience. Definitely worth the out of the way location!!
