Ive lived in Victoria BC for almost 30 years and we come back to visit family a couple of times a year. Pepperoni and mushroom or ham and fresh tomato or the classic ham and pineapple top the list. Sauce is perfect, crust is chewy and not too thick and the cheese blend can't be beat. Edmontons best kept secret for pizza.
Went there on my birthday just for the lasagne. I love all their pasta. My daughter commented that I could not possibly eat the full portion but when something is that good it draws you in.
If you want an old fashioned pizza, the way it used to be made until corporate America took it and turned it into a cheese less piece of cardboard then this is the place for you. It is served the traditional way, big fluffy crust that is crispy on the outside, loaded with toppings and cheese, yes cheese, so much cheese that it when you pull a slice from the pie it has those long stretchy cheese strands that never end. Served Hot out of the oven and full of delicious taste, this has to be tried to be appreciated. Don't miss the opportunity to try a piece of heaven .
I've been coming to this Royal Pizza since 1970 when the original owner introduced the first Royal Pizza at this historically vintage location. Back then my Greek father Mario had introduced me to the old Greek owner, who'd always welcome my daddy and me with a friendly hand shake and waitresses that would answer to the owners request that they bring us that traditional cold water containing ice that you'd often see as a tradition back in the times of Old Edmonton. The waitresses wore boots back then attired in presentable mini skirts and that followed with the long hair down to their backs when the mod look was in its infancy in the days of Jimmy Hendriks and the Grateful Dead. The juke boxes were always there to entertain rock and roll buffs who'd enjoy the best pizza in town back then. Today, 47 years later I often return to this old haunts quite often reflect with the new owner about how it was as opposed to how it is now! i went back a whole bunch of time in the early 90's often boasting to this new generation of waitresses about how all the customers were treated Royally by the Old Greek owner, that certainly helps speed up the service for the last time I was here my girlfriend and I had a large mushroom green pepper and olive pizza and two fresh coffees with the immediate service that encouraged us to start eating a freshly cooked pizza that I consider the best tasting pizza in all of South Edmonton. I'd recommend you give this friendly place a try, and the pizzas certainly the first item you should sample on their menu that will have you returning the next time while discovering other hidden gems that this great menu has to offer! If ever there was a place that could boast Best Pizza in Edmonton, this is it. I love the Royale which is a classic, pepperoni, ham, onions, green peppers, black olives and sometimes I add pineapple. Their crust is classic American style thick crust. You will pay for one pizza what some places may offer two for but the quality is worth it.
