Simit House - Edmonton

I have a hard time finding borek, and was thrilled to find spinach and cheese borek at this little Turkish restaurant. It was delicious, but make sure the heat it up for you in the oven, not the microwave!

The food was amazing at this little family run restaurant. This is probably the best Turkish food I've had in Canada. The staff was friendly and the desserts were delicious. It has been many years since I was in the Middle East but I felt like I was transported back in time and space after one bite. We had the Sharma special and the lamb kabobs which came with two types of salad and bulgur. My husband is still talking about the rice pudding. For dessert we had the Turkish coffee. The presentation is worth ordering alone as the coffee is served on a silver tray with a little dish of Turkish Delight on the side. We will defiantly be returning! Can't wait to go back and try some other dishes.

This place is fantastic! The food is amazing, the staff is friendly, and the service is top-notch.

Deciding what to order at Simit House is the most difficult part of the visit.

I have been waiting to visit Simit House until O is back in town, but I will have to go with him another time.
