Wow.. a spontaneous stop turned out to be knock out flavourful food. Highly recommended Dan Dan soup, chicken fried rice, pork dumplings, teriyaki chicken. And the washrooms and dining room are very clean. Super friendly service. Lots of customers coming in and out for frozen dumplings.
Don't be afraid of the spice they will accommodate to your taste buds I prefer spicy and it was. You must try there in house dumplings in orders of six or twelve and you can also purchase frozen ones to take home for a later feast. I enjoyed the tree mushrooms and vegetables with chicken a very delicious meal served with a side of rice. The menu has a very good selection to choose from I uploaded it today for you to look at. The owner is very courteous and polite offering a very attentive service. Being tucked away in a industrial strip mall it's worth the search and the drive. The restaurant has a very warm and pleasant feel to it, I enjoyed my dinner watching a concert performance on the one of three TV's they have mounted. I consider this a quaint little get away spot!
Went to The Dumpling Restaurant based on fellow Trip Adviser contributors, glad I did, went for take out as the Stanley Cup final was on TV and I wanted to get back to my hotel to watch. Requested some items and the young lady (the owner I think) asked of this was a dinner for two, when I said no she advised that I was ordering tooo much food for only me. I though that was very good of her, she could of easily of padded the bill for an extra 15$.Anyway, ordered the dumplings (go figure) and chicken and noodle dish, both were excellent. My server requested how I would like it prepared, regular medium spicy or hot and spicy. Went with medium and happy I did, good heat ad great flavor.Next time I'm back in town I will eat in to see what else they can offerVery pleased
Went with average expectations and was blown away by the quality and authentic Szechuan taste. Yes they have homemade non-MSG dumplings which are great either boiled or pan-fried. The Northern style green beans were among the best I've tasted. Good selection of main dishes with chicken, beef, and pork spiced according to your request. Definitely will be back. Once you find this place just walk down a few doorways and experience on of Edmonton's best Indian restaurants -Zaika.
