Wow everything was fantastic...The BLT was nicely toasted with thick bacon, that I am guessing was made in house too, with a fried egg and avocado. It was a perfectly balanced hot sandwich. The chicken pesto was a cold sandwich that had a great blend cheesy herby chicken fillings that really allows the bread to be enjoyed. The French toast was the butteriest French toast i have ever had. The use of high quality grass fed butter made it both luxurious and on the savory side of French toasts and again with some nice thick bacon and a fried egg. We also tried the coleslaw and potato salad both were really nice. The potato salad was creamy with red potatoes and dill it played well with the sandwiches. We finished it off with a mint chip ice cream sandwich creamy smooth ice cream that coated the palate with mint flavor sandwiched in between two chocolate chip cookies. All in all probably the best food l have had in the Sonoita Elgin area. Not to mention the location but of course its nice its at a winery.
Food was so good, everything was so fresh. I can't wait to go back and Breanna and Chris are such wonderful people.
Run and find this gem of a food truck-bistro in Sonoita! We wandered in just after opening Saturday and were warmly greeted by the wonderful Rancho Rossa team headed by baker Brea, chef Chris, and winedoggie-mascot Arthur. After a tough choosing between entrees, we finally settled on the (Merlot) grilled cheese and the Triple B BLT. Oh my stars! The bread was yeasty, yummy, perfect. The sandwiches were grilled to perfection. The potato salad was packed with flavor. And may I just say, again and again (and again), Merlot cheese. Wow. Mid-meal we were already planning our next visit. This little hideaway is perfect for stops between wineries, an all day visit, a to-go picnic. Try the Sangria while you wait for lunch, and browse lovely gifts with all proceeds helping care for furry ones through their (non-profit) Rescued Hearts Cellars. Wonderful for groups, wonderful for couples, wonderful!
The Sonoita/Elgin area is a most beautiful area. It has wide open rolling pasture lands, distant mountain vistas and a color pallet beyond imagination with the amazing AZ sunsets. And we must not forget the vineyards and sumptuous wines.Well. Now there is yet another amazing experience to behold. It was the grand opening of Brea's Bakery and Bistro this past weekend. It is located on the property of Chris and Breanna Hamilton's winery, Rancho Rossa Vineyards.I spent a wonderful few hours catching up with old friends and meeting new. I also enjoyed one of THE best grilled cheese sandwiches, ever! The bread is homemade by Brea and, if you love a good, crusty, white artisan style bread, you will be delighted with Brea's. Everything is homemade to perfection. Even the coleslaw and potatoe salads. Chris makes a fine chef, indeed. And! He makes the smokey bacon from scratch that piles high on the classy BLT.But don't just take my word for it. Take a ride out to the vineyard and try it for yourself. You will not be disappointed.
The Grilled cheese Brea's way was so tempting that I forgot to take a picture until I was almost done with half of it! Healthy sized portions, good pricing, quality food and yummy, all in the beauty of Sonoita-Elgin. What more can you ask for?
