The highlight was that they were able to seat me and have me out the door in just half an hour, even though the restaurant was quite busy.
We often stop by this restaurant for coffee and a muffin with our children before school. John and Mary are always friendly and attentive. The menu offers a variety of food options, ensuring you won't be disappointed. The pancake stacks for breakfast are a decadent treat that we enjoy daily. That's why we keep coming back.
We went on a Saturday night and found the place largely empty. The waiting staff was attentive and the food was good. My two complaints are that the chairs have a retreat to relax, I had to reject myself from the table, which was neither helpful for eating or speaking. Also the chairs were low and the meal came in a high soup bowl, the result was that it was difficult to get food from the bowl, as the edge of the bowl was not much lower than eye height.
One of the best cafs in Eltham. For a laidback brekky or lunch they do great meals with the best coffee.
I strive to provide a fair and thoughtful review, so this one is challenging for me to write. The food and coffee were good, but I felt that I could have found better value elsewhere. My main issue was with the manager, who seemed more concerned with maximizing customer turnover than providing a pleasant experience. Upon my arrival, the tables were still dirty and unoccupied. I found a table for four, although I was dining alone, in a secluded area. The manager asked me to move to a different table so he could reserve the larger table for a group of four. I had to request a waitress to clean my table and chair, as they were covered in spilled food. Another couple experienced the same issue and were also asked to move. The neighboring table was occupied by loud, unruly children, which further detracted from my meal. After finishing my coffee and Foccacia, I observed that the cafe was mostly empty and no one had occupied the reserved table. It was disappointing to see the manager prioritize potential future customers over the ones already present.
