The servers, the food, the musicians, the Irish clientele who share their table to make room, the decor - it all adds up to a truly exceptional experience with a drink to enjoy without moderation in this quirky spot. Thank you to everyone for a wonderful evening.
My son and I began our 8-day golf trip in Ireland in Lahinch by visiting the Cliffs of Moher for half a day. Along the way, we stopped in Doolin for a relaxing walk by the sea and had a meal at McGanns, a lovely traditional Irish pub. We started with some of the best Guinness we had on the entire trip - absolutely delicious! My son chose the hearty and flavorful Irish Beef Stew, while I enjoyed the tasty Fish and Chips. If you find yourself in Lahinch and plan to visit the Cliffs of Moher, make sure to stop by McGanns for a drink or a satisfying lunch experience!
In my opinion, this is the best place to drink food and listen to traditional Irish music in all Doolins. The food was delicious (still on her...
After finding McDermott's to be a madhouse and waiting half an hour in vain, we went across the street to McGann's. We found the restaurant to be warm and cozy, with lots of locals but not too full to get a table. Dinner was good and reasonably priced (45 euros for a beer, a bowl of good seafood chowder, and two entrees).
We went to McGann's both nights we stayed in Doolin and loved it. Saturday night was hopping but we got seats. We both had the stew and it was delicious. Hung around to listen to the music for a while. Went back for dinner Sunday night and each had a special. Delicious! The wait staff here is fantastic. I cannot say enough about them. They work hard but were some of the nicest we met in Ireland.
