Tides Bistro - Ennis

My Wife and I dined at Tides Bistro on Wednesday 5th. June 2019 and it was most enjoyable. My Wife had a fish cake and I indulged in a lovely dish of Smoked salmon and prawns, on soda bread and it was delicious. We were served by Mary, who is a wonderful Ambassador for Irish Tourism. As we dined, our table was visited by the Management team of Anne Marie, Derek and David. Many thanks for a most enjoyable meal and look forward to our next visit. Incidentally, as we left a huge contingent of Police due to the nearby visit of the President of the United States of America arrived to dine, thus indicating the high standards of the hotel

Went for lunch with my mother. We were seated and orders taken within 5 mins. We both ordered the lamb. Only waiting few minutes for our food which was cooked perfectly and incredibly tasty. Fabulous amount of food for the price. Was going to have dessert but was full so decided to wait until next time. Had a lovely waiter, Cathal who was very nice. Would definitely recommend visiting and will be back.

I was going to email the Hotel direct , rather than review on here .. however , my review might benefit others if posted on here . Please Note , the staff are Amazing . They couldn’t have been more helpful. I visited one evening last week . I ordered Chicken and Mushroom Vol-au-vent for starters and Salmon for mains The Starter consisted of Two rock hard Pastries , loaded with thick cut chicken and a minimal amount of mushrooms . The worst part was , the whole dish was covered in sauce , nearly half an inch thick! It was served within 10 ten minutes of ordering which has me guessing it’s all pre prepared . However, it was Luke warm ! The main course was dire . The salmon was watery and appeared to be cooked in a microwave then finished for a minute under grill frying pan . Once again , covered in sauce ! Another sign of an amateur poor chef . The side dish of vegetables were average . The chips were good . Out of curiosity, I returned later in the week . I ordered Pan fried hake . Disgusting . Just like the salmon , watery and tasteless . For desert I had cheesecake. Hard base and average upper layer Waitress was amazing . She was the only saving grace otherwise I would have made a point of complaining to the manager on duty . I chose not to complain as I didn’t want to embarrass the waitress or make a scene . I shouldn’t have to complain . At the price they charge for their food , I would expect a decent meal . How anyone could rate their food as quality bemuses me

We were staying at the hotel and decided to go here for dinner in the evening. Food was incredibly tasty; presented beautifully and we were given very large portions!Good choice of different meals at a very reasonable price. Staff were friendly and attentive, very relaxed atmosphere all round. Really enjoyed our meal here.

Staying nearby and we gave it a try. Glad we did. Quaint and smacked of bygone times. Nice friendly staff clean tables etc. Food really really good. Great variety and good service. If passing give it a go.
