The Sportsman - Erewash

I cannot speak highly enough of Amanda and her staff at the Sportsman. We held a wake celebration for my wife after her funeral on August 4th, 2014, and the food was exceptional. Even the older guests were satisfied with the variety of dishes served throughout the day, from 11:30 am to 8:30 pm. The bar staff were efficient and all dressed respectfully in black. The outdoor seating area was a lovely option for those wanting some fresh air. This was truly a glorious send-off for my wife. Thank you to everyone at the Sportsman for making it such a memorable day.

The restaurant is nothing extraordinary, could use a fresh coat of paint in the function room. However, one does not expect a local pub to resemble Buckingham Palace. The function room is spacious, but if you plan on renting it, be sure to bring some decorations as it can be a bit dull. The drinks are affordable and the service is great, just like a typical English pub!

The staff at this restaurant are charming and accommodating, the food is delicious, and the function room is fantastic. The addition of the garden room outside is a nice touch, allowing diners to enjoy their meal on comfortable benches and cushions in the open air.

We have visited the Sportsman a few times this summer, mainly due to their lovely new outdoor area which is great to sit in for a few drinks. Staff are very friendly.

Good sized function room with its own bar ,stage etc which is great for parties and events. Staff are helpful and it's seating arrangements and dance floor make it great to socialise. It's not posh but it's a good venue. Been here numerous times
