However, it's really excellent food that keeps the doors open and brings customers back. It's surprising that we hadn't heard about this restaurant until we spotted a voucher in the local newspaper: a complete meal for two costs just $13.95, a hard price to beat. So, we decided to check it out on Friday night. The restaurant has a vibe that seems to come from the 60s or 90s—nothing too imaginative, but it’s friendly, warm, and impeccably clean. It was bustling, just as you would expect given the prices. The service was exceptional: our waiter was cheerful, personable, and prompt. The high, open bar ceilings gave it a diner or coffee shop feel, and while it felt spacious, it also had a cozy atmosphere. Before we even got to the extensive menu, I noticed that everyone around us was having a good time—everyone was smiling. I ordered one of my favorites, a dish with a seafood twist and onions, and it was fantastic. Terri opted for the Chicken Fried Steak and reported that it was excellent too. The booths and chairs were covered in mauve vinyl with Formica tabletops that also featured a mauve design—definitely a nod to the 90s. But despite its retro decor, it was truly a delightful culinary experience. The value was incredible, and the quality of the food was top-notch. After just a few bites, we knew we would return as regulars. Iced tea was free-flowing, and our attentive waitress kept an eye on us throughout our meal. When it came time to pay the bill, we met Charlie, the owner, who greeted us with a big smile and genuinely asked if everything was to our satisfaction—and it was, even better than we expected. It's clear that Charlie is dedicated to ensuring his customers are happy. We’re already looking forward to our next visit for another enjoyable meal. It’s refreshing to discover such great value, quality, and attention to detail in today’s world.
I really enjoy going to Charlie's, especially when I don't feel like cooking! The waitstaff is friendly, and the food is consistently good. I've loved everything I've tried there. Plus, the meals are incredibly affordable! The daily specials are always under $10, and there's a variety to choose from. One of my favorites is the BBQ chicken, which comes with a wonderfully crisp salad. I always opt for the Ranch dressing, which is delicious. The salad is always served cool and refreshing. You also have the choice of mashed potatoes or French roasted potatoes, along with vegetables and a roll. Their burgers and fries are great too, and the turkey dinner made with fresh turkey and stuffing is definitely worth trying.
The service was outstanding, and the food was quite tasty. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience!
Charlie's was my grandmother's favorite restaurant, and I love taking my son there. I always feel relaxed, and the staff is friendly no matter when you visit.
Food was eh, needed more flavor. Nothing super special.
