Desalvo's Pizza - Evanston

This restaurant is more like "peak-za" with its delicious thin crust pizza. I tried the rabbit pizza and it was surprisingly sweet for a veggie pizza. I look forward to trying more options on the menu. The staff was friendly and the music was cool. I was thankful that they informed me about the nuts in the pesto, as no other restaurant has done that for me before. They have a few other vegetarian options in addition to the delicious rabbit pizza. Great job!

This restaurant is a popular spot after school with excellent service and delicious food. They offer pizza by the slice and are perfect for a quick meal. Their specials are unique and I have never been disappointed with my meal here. Overall, a fantastic restaurant.

My first visit to DeSalvo's was on 1/27/24, a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant was busy but not overly crowded, with a comfortable, modern, and spacious atmosphere that was well-lit even on a gray January day. The service was efficient and friendly, with the staff calling out our name to pick up our appetizer and bringing our entrees to the table. The food was excellent, with house-made dough and marinara sauce. The kitchen was open and visible, which is always a plus. We ordered garlic knots and calzones, both of which were delicious. The calzones had a light dough with a good amount of toppings, cheese, and sauce. Extra marinara sauce was provided on the side for sauce lovers. The calzones took about 20 minutes to make as they are fresh. We didn't try the slices or salads, but based on the calzones, they should be great as well. The prices were reasonable for the quality of ingredients used. Free soda refills were offered for dine-in customers. The restaurant had a mix of counter seating by the windows and various table sizes. We noticed that strangers were willing to share tables. Overall, I highly recommend DeSalvo's, even if it's just for a quick slice. I look forward to trying the pan crust on my next visit.

Best NY pie in Chicago area.I used to live in Manhattan, and also used to live in Logan Sqaure where Chicago tries to imitate New York pizza.DeSalvo's NY slice is better than anything I've found in Chicago in that NY slice category.Also, great Detroit style slices. I wish they would allow me to order those Detroit-style pies online. (Maybe a 4-corner)Also, the garlic knots are solid, and the marinara dipping sauce is the top of all time.

Delicious thin crust pizza. Super fresh ingredients. Just the right amount of cheese (which is not too much). Love the vibe of the restaurant though I’ve only gotten carry out. Cute raccoon mascot tshirts but no stickers yet. My favorite for pizza.
