For those who don’t know, Bi-Bim-Bop is a visually appealing dish featuring a delightful combination of vegetables, such as shredded carrots, alongside other Korean specialties. It's topped with delicious sweet BBQ Korean beef, known as Bulgogi, and a fried egg. You mix all the ingredients together, add the 'hot' sauce (which isn’t overly spicy), and you’ll end up with a vibrant, healthy meal that you can savor with a spoon. Mandarin House is a favorite lunchtime spot for Northwestern graduate students and professors alike.
The food was delicious! I stopped by for lunch and ordered the Bibim Bap with chicken, which was packed with flavor. I would have given it a 5-star rating if it had been served in a hot sizzling bowl.
Although Evanston lacks a variety of high-quality Asian restaurants, this one doesn't stand out among them. The food is merely average, and Joy Yee's is relatively overpriced compared to other choices. That said, the lunch deals offered are truly exceptional.
