Mother Mae's Kitchen - Evanston

The food was outstanding, and the owners are wonderful! The bread and fries were the best I've had in a long time. We truly enjoy the personal touch of family-run dining when we get the chance. We'll definitely be returning!

This is a family-run restaurant, and it offers a delightful experience. The staff is friendly and brings a great sense of humor to the conversation. The food was excellent, and they were more than happy to customize their dishes to suit my preferences. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained. I’m not sure how long this place has been around, but it seems to have a long history. I would definitely eat here again the next time I'm in town.

We were looking for lunch on our way home from a great vacation. We always like to eat non-chain, mom and pop sites. I'm glad I had read the reviews, because other wise men would have led us. A loving older couple leads the place. The Lord told us everything about their menu and what they are known for. Based on this information, my husband ordered a sandwich on her freshly baked wheat roll. It was gigantic and had many delicious (optional) ingredients. I ordered the Chili dog and Pommes. Potatoes are prepared by hand and fries to order. They were delicious like the diving sauce. The chili was really good and it was good with the hot dog. It may look like a dive, but the food and the owners are worth a stop.

They offer a variety of sandwiches, burgers, soups, and homemade fries—all delicious, comfort food at reasonable prices. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, creating a relaxed atmosphere. As newcomers to the area, we really enjoyed our visit for a quick meal. They made us feel right at home!

Such a fun place to stop and eat from our of town. A lovely couple, who I assume are the owners, took time to explain their menu. They were very attentive and sweet.
