The wating area was filled to overflowing with angry Valentines Day diners way to set a romantic atmosphere! The valet and maitre d' were both rude and totally unapologetic. We waited another 20 minutes to even see our waitress after finally being seated. I ordered my steak medium well but it was so **** in the middle I couldn't finish it after the ridiculous wait I did not even bother to send it back. At least the waitress (when we saw her) was nice enough, and even gave us dessert for free. But she recommended we not go there on holidays due to poor service! We will go her one better and never return, period!
Spectacular setting and food offerings; staff is very helpful and make the meal enjoyable; wide selection of meats, seafood and great specials every day. Very quaint facility inn. Food is prepared wonderfully; nice wine list.
The Duling-Kurtz House, after assuring my fiance and I that holding our wedding reception there would present little/no complications, and agreeing to host said reception (7 months earlier), contacted my fiance, 4 1/2 months prior to our wedding, and told her 'it just isn 't going to work '. My young family, my parents, and numerous frends family have spent literally ten of thousands of dollars at the Duling-Kurtz House, and their explanation was 'I don 't know what to tell you. ' The food is good; overpriced, but good, and the atmosphere is charming. If you enjoy good food, and don 't mind paying a bit more than is appropriate, the Duling-Kurtz House is, by appearances, a great place to eat. BUT, ladies, if you remember what is was like to plan your wedding, and can imagine the stress/frustration these people have caused my fiance, please consider dining elsewhere. Gentlemen, if you can relate to the feeling of seeing the woman you love in tears by way of someone 's lack of consideration/negligence, please consider dining at the Dilworthtown Inn or Vicker 's Tavern. Altogether, the Duling-Kurtz House clearly does not will not appreciate your business, a shocklingly short-sighted characteristic of a much younger business.
