We visited this restaurant for breakfast on a Saturday morning and ordered the West Coast Benny. We specifically requested soft eggs, but they arrived hard. When we informed our waiter, she offered to have them remade, and we accepted. However, instead of redoing the entire Benny, they simply brought out new eggs, which felt quite strange. This didn’t align with proper restaurant standards. Additionally, the hollandaise sauce was pale and not very flavorful. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. I’m giving it 3 stars mainly because our waitress was friendly, and the pancakes and French toast for the kids were quite good. The potatoes were also a highlight.
Unfortunately, the Wine Wednesday promotion that promised 50% off bottled wine did not deliver as expected. We were eager to enjoy a wine we had ordered the previous week, Lakeside Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon, which was listed on their menu. However, we were informed that the discount only applied to Yellow Tail, a lower-quality wine that wasn't even featured on the menu, priced at $20. After ordering, we realized that $20 was the discounted price, meaning this wine, which typically retails around $10, was supposedly being sold for $40. This felt like false advertising and pointed to poor management, compounded by staff miscommunication. It was a very disappointing experience. We want to support local businesses during these times, but when our loyalty isn't appreciated, we will have to seek alternatives.
We recently tried Dapper 's Landing for the first time. We ordered the Monday night special which is tacos for two for $20. Generous number of tacos and meat, but all the toppings were in very small quantities. The salsa was particularly disappointing as it was a thin spicy tomato liquid with no actual chunks of ingredients in it. It is what is leftover in the bottom of a jar of cheap salsa when the salsa is all gone! We asked for salsa and were told that what we got is all they had. You can 't pour a liquid into a taco! Even if they are using a cheap salsa from a jar it wouldn 't take much to have somebody chop up a few tomatoes, onions, cilantro etc. to make it acceptable. I 'm not anxious to try Dapper 's again if this is representative of their usual quality of ingredients.
Steak Aioli Sandwich is incredible. Other food is only ok. Our family ate tapas style and found everything to be a little bland except for the steak sandwich special which blew us all away. The waitstaff was friendly although not quick to recognize potential customer needs. Pretty standard fare.
