Additionally, half of the teriyaki chicken was dry and lacking sauce, which felt like a cost-cutting measure. It's clear this place is compromising on food quality. There are plenty of teriyaki restaurants nearby that offer delicious food worth your money.
The only dish worth trying here is the chicken teriyaki, though that's a bit of a stretch. The portion sizes are tiny, but I suppose that's typical of Japanese cuisine, which tends to be smaller than what we Americans are used to. However, the price doesn't really reflect these small portions. I wouldn't recommend ordering the combo plates with gyoza or egg rolls; you'll end up getting less rice and mediocre sides that aren't worth it. I did try the chicken lo mein, which I would say is the second best option on the menu. It's decent, though it could use some MSG for extra flavor. Stick with the two dishes I've mentioned, and you'll likely leave feeling only slightly let down instead of very disappointed.
DISAPPOINTING! This restaurant has definitely fallen off my list of places to eat. I ordered the chicken breast teriyaki well-done, and it came out rubbery and cold. I specifically did not ask for it to be plain, but there was no teriyaki sauce and the dish had no flavor at all. What happened to the older couple who used to know how to prepare this food? On a positive note, the cashier at the front was sweet, kind, and very nice. Unfortunately, I don't think the cook can read or just doesn't care about fulfilling orders properly. I won't be coming back again.
The food at this restaurant is absolutely fantastic. The staff are incredibly friendly too. The teriyaki sauce is exceptional—it's some of the best food I've ever had!
I've been going to this restaurant for ages! The husband and wife who own it are incredibly kind. While the quality of the food has changed with the rising prices, it remains a go-to spot for my family and me. I highly recommend the sesame chicken as a side dish, and definitely grab a bottle of their homemade salad dressing—it's truly life-changing! Wishing you both all the best; I hope retirement and sunny beaches are in your future—you deserve it!
