We arrived around 7:30 PM on December 1, 2017, which was a Friday night, and the place was completely dark except for the open sign. I suspect they may have already closed for good. The food was excellent, but unfortunately, they didn’t offer any drinks.
I believe this restaurant is permanently closed now. I've attempted to visit for the past few weeks, but they’ve been closed each time. I also called the number, and it’s been disconnected.
I was very impressed with the food! Initially, the service felt a bit unprofessional, but it improved significantly as our visit went on. (See photo of steak quesadillas.)
It's great to finally have an authentic Mexican restaurant in the area! While the menu does feature quite a bit of Tex-Mex, you can also explore more traditional options like Lengua and delicious Camerones Mexicana. The flavors are rich without being overwhelmingly spicy, which is a refreshing change from many Mexican restaurants in Michigan that tend to rely on heat as a substitute for flavor. The tamales are excellent as well. The chef is top-notch, and I really hope they consider expanding their menu, as they clearly have the skills to do so. Since Mi Ranchero Tres in Otsego closed a few years back, there's been nothing quite like this around. The setting is also quirky in a good way, featuring a real railcar connected to a couple of renovated grain silos—definitely unique! Prices are reasonable too; we spent just $32 for two people (without alcohol).
