We especially love the fact that they are a family friendly place and are always welcoming towards us and our 2 year old toddler. We have tried most of the dishes on offer but we always order our favourite dishes- lamb or chicken sagwala and butter chicken or mango chicken with the sampler naan bread pack. We will keep going here because we always know what to expect with them
Food was definitely delicious! Great portion size and very filling indeed. We had ordered butter chicken and lamb biryani that was served in a clay pot. We did wait quite some time for our order, not necessarily a downfall as I would rather the freshly cooked and made to order dishes than the reheated and old dishes.
We had had lunch and dinner at this new restaurant . On the first visit we ordered chaat and wraps. The chaat came out very quickly but the wraps took almost 30 minutes to arrive which is a long wait for hungry kids. Both were very good.<br/ <br/ On the second occasion we ordered the chicken and lamb biryanis with a naan platter. The naans were served quickly but the biryanis took about 35 minutes to arrive.<br/ <br/ The biryanis are served in claypots covered and sealed with a roti dough which is very unique and appealing.<br/ <br/ The layer of rice on the top in the claypot was lightly spiced nice and fluffy with separate grains but the bottom layer of rice in the claypot was mixed in with loads of heavily spiced gravy which made it wet and soggy. A beautiful dish but spoilt by lack of attention to detail.<br/ Would advise the chef to minimise use of gravy in the biryani.
Caught up with friends for lunch here a couple of weeks ago and was quite impressed with the decor. Classy looking place, but was nearly empty for Friday afternoon lunch time. However I now know why the lack of customers they took too long to serve the food. <br/ Between us we ordered the Chole Bathura, Pav Bhaji, Dahi Papdi Chaat an the Veg Manchurian. The Bathura were some of the best I've tried large and crispy and soft at the same time. The Veg Manchurian was pretty good too probably one of the better Veg Manchurian's I've tried around Auckland. The Pav Bhaji could have used a bit more Pav, but overall it was pretty good both price and quantity wise.<br/ Wouldn't mind going back and trying out some of their other dishes.<br/ <br/ Have been back again and this time we tried the Puri Aloo and Chicken Tikka from the smorgasboard. The Puri Aloo was yum and good value for money. Hubby was not a big fan of the chicken tikka masala, said it was average.
Their naan (hopefully this is right spelling) is nice. My partner was pretty impressed with their spicy chicken. The service is a bit slow due to only 2 on the floor, they did not pay attention much and i had to call them couple times until they answered me. Will comeback anyway!!!
