Bop's Frozen Custard - Flowood

Bops is within walking distance from my office, and we love to go there for their watermelon shaved ice. It's the perfect refreshing treat for the summer! Plus, if you sign up for their text alerts, they'll send you coupons for free shaved ice—such a great deal!

I had some visitors from Canada, and we were searching for a great ice cream shop when we stumbled upon Bop's Frozen Custard. The place was clean, and the staff were friendly. Surprisingly, it wasn't very busy for a Friday night. They offer a wide variety of options for your custard, whether you prefer it in a cup or a waffle bowl. I tried the Kate's Crunch and the Hawaiian Crunch, and I enjoyed both immensely. Each bite was an excellent mix of all the ingredients. I ordered the kid-sized portion, which turned out to be quite filling. They also had some clothing items for sale. I would definitely come back!

Updated 7/30/2021: Another incredibly disappointing experience. Once again, the only flavors were located in the very top of the cup. The photos show two different Amazin' Grace concretes, both served at the same time. This marks the second time this has happened, and I’m uncertain if I’ll give it a third chance. We’ve always enjoyed Bop's until our latest visit. The Amazin' Grace has been my favorite, but this time, the flavoring was only mixed into the top one-third of the cup, while the remainder was just plain custard.

I asked if they had chocolate custard. Yes. I asked if they could make the little Bubba with chocolate custard instead of vanilla. Yes. I asked for a little Bubba made with chocolate custard and hot fudge instead of chocolate syrup. The gentleman got confused, so I repeated the order. Waited 20 minutes to make it to the window, drive home, and it's made with vanilla and chocolate syrup...

The floor was dirty and hadn’t been swept. There’s a lot that needs to be done in terms of sweeping, cleaning, and food preparation. Most of the employees were sitting around on their phones, and one employee was even sleeping in a chair. Only one employee seemed to be staying productive. On a positive note, the ice cream was fantastic, and the staff was friendly.
