Upscale places still have this natural connection to hospitality that roll out on every picture and recipe here! The buffet is not at all what you find on the strip of tourist attractions. This is southern gracefully elegant comfort food. Traditional homemade recipes take the high notes. To try some; turkey dressing, apple cheese, boiled potatoes green beans, roasted chicken, pork roast, spinach souffle, sweet potato casserole, shrimp bisque, gumbo, roasted shrimps, roasted white fish, chocolate icebox cake, cherry trifle, pecan shortbread, snickerdoodles, fudge cake, only these chocolate cakes, German cakes The building has historical antiques and the servers know many of the locals and history of everything in space! The walls and ceilings are so beautiful, the heat of the wood is like a hug. The natural attitude of kindness and helpful manners of all employees shows. We came while a huge event took place in private space next to the main café, the sound barrier was amazing, privacy and tranquility for both sides of the dining areas! Mardi gras crowns for the local parade crews. While the main café was filled with people and there was music, it was not overwhelmingly loud or overwhelming. Quiet enough for everyone who doesn't like loud spaces. Lots of space. Disabled. Two entrances, a lot of parking. Family friendly, also wonderful for a date. I'm so sad that we don't have something like that in most places. Unique and elegant to go directly on the Gulf Coast Gems of places. Don't pass that. Large oaks with benches are 2 blocks away. You might have to sit and thank your stars after a visit, because life is short and you could eat more than a peach cake.
Excellent service and food. Buffet had plenty of choice to choose. Fish, shrimp, land fried steak, chicken and dumplings, lots of vegetables. The staff kept hot food on the bar. Also, shrimps had bisque and rubber bears that were crazy delicious. The atmosphere was also excellent. Built in 1913 and still has stained wooden slat walls. Decorated for a cozy atmosphere. Good for couples or whole families. The price was very reasonable. Parking was also easy.
A great offer of delicious Southern Style cooking! Undoubtedly, one of the most interesting restaurants I've ever visited.
This is a restaurant where I and my family eat a lot. We come to Foley once a year and this is one of the first things we make sure we do. We have been here for years in a row and every time it is perfect and some trips that we even end up going several times in a few days. The food is amazing and the staff is very friendly. The surroundings and the building are fun. The fried fish and shrimp, Mac n cheese, chicken and dumplings, green beans and potatoes, and salad bar are some of our favorites. They even have a variety of desserts. I'm sure you're happy what you did!
Diane was a lovely server and extremely attentive. The kitchen staff hit it out of the park with the food, everything was fresh and yummy. I do wish there was a bit more for meat selection, and veggies. But overall enjoyed our experience. It's a lovely location as well.
