If I could give a zero I would! Very disappointed that last night we sat in Trio for 15-20 minutes without once being waited on! There was a table that was seated about 10 minutes after we were that was served right away. We sat there and no one even noticed us until we got up to leave. Never asked what drinks we would like or anything! Will never be going back! We got up and left went to La Carreta and had our drinks and whole meal within 5 minutes! Trio needs to learn better management and better customer service!
The restaurant did not have all of the alcohol we were searching for, but the staff was eager to assist without being pushy or judgmental. Despite this, there was a wide variety of selection and I was able to find suitable replacements for what I was looking for at reasonable prices. I do not frequently shop for alcohol, so I am not very knowledgeable about comparing different stores.
The elderly gentleman stationed by the entrance is very impolite (this is the second encounter we've had with him). As soon as I entered, he gestured towards where I should go (without uttering a word), prompting me to seek clarification. He then instructed me to adjust my mask to cover my nose... even though it was already in place. I had to explain to him what a nose was and that my mask was indeed covering it. The encounter was incredibly awkward and unsettling.
Virginia has some outdated liquor laws, particularly with the ABC handling liquor sales. In California, I discovered BevMo, a store with a much larger selection than the average ABC store. However, the specific ABC store I visited in Virginia had all the basic spirits I needed and was sufficient for my needs.
