Our room was bright and the amazingly comfortable bed was elevated so we could see the hills with our morning tea! We now come to the tasting menu. The tastes and textures of the menu was outstanding, we thank the chef for such an imaginative menu. The pairing drinks were not just from an excellent wine list. The drink pairings included a beer, a vermouth and they matched perfectly with the food. This is now the gold standard of tasting menus for us. All the staff were engaging, knowledgeable and a delight. We thank The Lovat for their care and attention.
We enjoyed our stay here. Fort Augustus is a cute little town and the Lovat is in the midst of it all. The staff recommended a stunning hike to ‘The Falls’ to us. We thoroughly enjoyed same. The food was pretty good as well. A nice place to stay if you are in the neighbourhood.
Station Road Restaurant provided an extraordinary dining experience. The tasting menu was not only delicious but also showcased exceptional attention to detail, highlighting the outstanding local ingredients that Scotland has to offer. The staff was superb, and the service made us feel like we were the only guests in the restaurant. We left feeling full and extremely satisfied. The location is conveniently within walking distance if you're staying elsewhere in town, as we were. This dining experience is a must-try and is unlike anything else we encountered while traveling through the Highlands.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Lovat Hotel. The location is stunning, and the hotel felt more like a home, with its warm, inviting decor and spacious, well-furnished rooms. Every morning, I would bring my tea downstairs to soak in the sunrise through the large picture window. It felt so cozy, like being in a dear friend's lovely country home. The staff were exceptional—extremely accommodating and professional. We savored delicious breakfasts each morning in the dining room and were delighted with our meal choices. The food was fantastic, and I especially appreciated that they offered kombucha as an alternative to juice. The porridge topped with berry compote was my absolute favorite. On our last evening, we enjoyed a special dinner organized by our hiking tour group, which featured a delightful meal beautifully presented. Each night, we unwound with a dram of whisky by the fireplace. This truly was one of my best vacations, made even more memorable by the wonderful staff at The Lovat.
I stayed here while walking the Great Glen Way and had the pleasure of staying in one of the garden rooms, which is separate from the main hotel. The room was very comfortable and came with a lovely selection of tea and coffee. I greatly appreciated the attention and kindness of the staff, especially since my friend was unwell, and they allowed us to check into our room earlier than usual. The restaurant is fantastic—I would happily have had the bannock for every course! I would definitely return to stay and eat here again.
