Well, in one short sentence, the food sucked. We went to a ball last night. The food served was probably some chef's idea and I say chef loosely) of fancy food. The plate consisted of: 1 piece of boiled chicken, slathered in Dijon mustard and covered with walnuts. 1 piece of what looked like last week's roast at the DFAC covered in a brown sauce with mushrooms mashed potatoes, and those were the only item on the plate that had any appeal a spoonful of shredded, boiled vegetables. The cake? Standard tasteless, too much sugar frosting on some dry cake. Awful. I am glad I don't have to go here too often, cause, man, at the rates they charge, it's awful.
While waiting, the kids enjoyed free face painting. We were seated in a beautiful ballroom adorned with elegant decorations. The waitstaff ensured that our mimosa glasses were always filled to the brim. The atmosphere was very kid-friendly, and the food was fantastic. We could hardly move afterwards! Just a note: reservations are required for special events.
I can’t recommend the nachos enough—definitely order the nachos! The Samuel Adams pub is also a great addition, with a selection of beer on tap and a lovely ambiance!
The daily menu themes remain unchanged: Asian cuisine is served on Mondays, Mexican on Tuesdays, German on Wednesdays, BBQ on Thursdays, and Soul Food (possibly the most popular day) on Fridays. Lunch is available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The dining area has fewer seats than before to ensure proper social distancing among patrons, with tables accommodating up to four people. Upon entering the facility, you must wear a face mask, use hand sanitizer, register your name, and then proceed to the serving line while maintaining distance. There are floor markings to guide one-way traffic and prevent close encounters with other guests. You can choose to take your food to go or enjoy it in the dining area, where you can remove your mask once seated. I enjoyed my German meal on Wednesday (as shown in the photo) and plan to make this restaurant my regular lunch spot, as I used to visit frequently before it closed for COVID-19 precautions nearly three months ago.
