One of the better Vietnamese in Frankfurt. In summer beautiful summer garden in the yard. Friendly staff and unusually good wine selection for Asians. Mangosalat is great!
A very nice discovery in Frankfurt-Bockenheim: the Vietnamese restaurant Mai Vien. Family run and dishes really taste authentic, guaranteed without flavor enhancers.
The Mai Vien is a beautiful, cozy, original Vietnamese restaurant in the old part of Bockenheim. I find the simple interior, almost exclusively made of wood. I've been here two so far and found both visits very nice. We were served both times in a timely manner, would not have to wait long for order intake as well as drinking and eating and the staff was nice, polite and attentive. We were also excellently advised in the selection of foods. The food is super dressed and tastes really delicious, especially the spring rolls and the Papaya salad are really recommended. In this respect, you can see that everything is actually done by yourself and it is not a finished dose meal. All ingredients are fresh and high quality. But also the most important foods are really delicious. There is a wide selection of meat dishes, but vegetarians do not come too short. Since the shop is really popular, you should reserve it in time – especially on weekends and on fair days, as it can then be very crowded. In summer you should also insist on getting a place on the quiet summer terrace as you can sit here really great and therefore enjoy your meal here. Finally, one must say that the price/performance ratio in May Vien is really excellent.
The Mai Vien is located in the Franfurter district of Bockenheim, where I also live. That's why I'm regularly there. It was not possible to stop from the relatively simple and simple environment, even if the many wood do not necessarily spray Asian charm. The staff was always friendly and accommodating. The food is always freshly prepared and the ingredients are also fresh and high quality. Prices are more than reasonable for the size of the portions. I was really amazed by the good, high quality wine selection, rather untypical for a Viatnamesen.
