For starters, the table started out with their honey Butter drop biscuits, and they were delicious. They were light, fluffy, fulfilling, and homemade. So good! I also tried the roasted carrot anchor soup. I'm not a huge fan of carrots, but this was amazing! So fulfilling and flavorful! For my entrée, I got the sweet chili Tempura Shrimp with mashed potatoes, which was amazing! The shrimp were pretty large and fried to perfection, the dipping sauce added the right bit of flavor, and the mashed potatoes were light and fluffy. For dessert, we had the warm butterscotch bread pudding, and that has to be one of the best desserts I've ever tried!! So light, filling, flavorful, rich, and sweet! I also had a glass of sweet rose wine. The service was amazing from the moment we walked in until the moment we left. Such a great experience overall.
Service was great. The meal started off well with a small sample of roasted carrot soup. It was given to all guests and my guess was it's something new they wanted to test Waiter was knowledgeable which was nice. The recommended was the chicken fried ribeye steak with lobster gravy. It's bucket list and was good. Mashed potatoes were lukewarm warm and were disappointing. The biscuits 4 for $10 had a nice butter and jelley. The biscuits themselves were so crumbly they literally fell apart in my hand. Not enjoyable to eat unless you wanted to use your fork or spoon to pick up the biscuit. They were a big disappointment unfortunately they are the only bread option We shared a salad wedge also plus $10. Dressing was nice Ambience was good I rate 3 as the soup and protein were good the salad middle of the road and the potatoes and biscuits were both forgettable The cost for 2 for dinner without liquor plus $100 plus tip Reservation system is a little cumbersome. It could be a 4-5 but when of the 4 major things we ate sub par on 2 you can't give it more than 3 star
Wonderful place for that special dinner! The service is superb. The ambience is great!
We celebrated our anniversary here and we were not disappointed! Started with Texas Twinkies and they were great...very fresh and great flavor. We had flounder and quail for main course and both were excellent. Quail particularly was awesome...best I'd ever had, very moist...highly recommend the quail. Finished it off with molten chocolate cake and bread pudding. Perfect meal to celebrate. Prices were great too with all that and three glasses of wine, the entire bill with a 25% tip was $200. I've spent a lot more for average food before.
I made a reservation a week in advance. I recommend this route as there were plenty of people waiting. The customer service from the moment you step foot into the restaurant is amazing. We had a male waiter who was tall, with brown ear lobe length hair, and a beard. I hate that I don't recall his name but he was so attentive that if you just glanced his way he took note and came to check on you. He was amazing at removing all excess dishes. He suggested dishes that we loved. I had the country fried ribeye with crawfish gravy. I am still in awe at how delicious it was. I couldn't finish it. I even took a break and came back to it. The mash potatoes did not help with the over stuffing I was doing. They were perfect. I never knew I needed them this meal combination. I found my new dinner spot in Fredericksburg.
