Mac's Bbq Catering- Fredericksburg, Tx

4 Star BBQ; 5 Star service. We had chopped brisket sandwiches; sliced brisket sandwich and baked potato with pulled pork. My favorite thing was the green chili mac n cheese Food: 4/5

I ordered a two-meat plate, and I was really disappointed to only receive one rib, which was underwhelming. While that rib was decent, the pulled pork was terrible—it had an awful chemical taste. I mentioned this to the staff, but they dismissed my concerns, suggesting it might be the flavor from the pecan wood they use for smoking. Honestly, it didn't taste anything like pecan wood! On a positive note, the mac and cheese, corn, and coleslaw were quite good, as was my wife's brisket sandwich.

Wonderful place to stop abs have lunch, especially since my dentist is right around the corner! ? DELICIOUS bbq brisket, and I love that there is a smaller plate for seniors. Nice, relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. Y’all have to stop here, if you’re visiting Fredericksburg, Texas. It’s right on Main St, so what could be more convenient!??

If there were minus stars to give.... I would.My family and I visited this location and I've never been more disappointed and frankly disgusted in a long time.We ordered a chopped brisket sandwich with fries, and a pulled pork sandwich with green chili mac and cheese.The brisket was floating in grease when they scooped it onto the bun and had absolutely zero flavor. The pulled pork was literally rancid, and tasted like it had been smoked on wet cedar wood, besides being burnt. The condiment table was messy and dirty and half filled with dried onions and pickles. The unsweetened tea was old and bitter.As a member of Lone Star BBQ Society, I am sad that other patrons are served this type of thing, and ashamed that the owners claim this is Texas style BBQ.Absolutely sickened.

My husband and I stopped in for a late lunch and ordered pulled pork sandwiches, fries, and a side of beans. Unfortunately, the pork was quite disappointing; it had an overwhelming smoky flavor, which made me suspect they used a lot of liquid smoke. Additionally, it seemed like the meat had been sitting in a warming tray for a while, so it wasn’t fresh. The beans tasted like they came straight from a can and lacked any flavor. The fries were decent, though. The tables felt sticky, but we were fortunate enough to find one that had just been cleaned. The staff was friendly, but I noticed a sign outside offering free beer in exchange for reviews, which might explain the abundance of recent 5-star ratings. Overall, I don’t think I will return.
