A Cuba - Funchal

Very friendly and helpful staff. The atmosphere and interior of the place is original and well made, and the food was amazing. We felt really welcome and that is something that is not always easy to find in a place with so many tourists around.

I wanted to have Tuna steak, but they didn’t have them fresh and I was recommended a scabbard fish with banana. I told them that I didn’t have a good experience with this dish at a restaurant that I went previously. But I was guaranteed that it would be really tasty, and I trusted them and ordered it. And wow, it was so different and so so tasty! The service, the atmosphere, the food and everything was so great. I was very happy dining here, and I would come back again for sure!

Excellent service. I had the pork in garlic sauce. Nice herb flavor. I should have got the boiled potatoes to soak up all the goodness left on my plate.

Lovely restaurant with a unique interior of original Maderia barrels. The manager was very friendly and informative. The menu is not vast but there's a good choice. I had the Portuguese style pork and my partner had the octopus stew. Both meals came with potatoes or fries, a green veg and a salad. Big portions for us! All very tasty. The wine is also very good. Prices are very reasonable. Will go back again if I'm in Funchal. Highly recommend.
