Read the reviews and decided to see what this place is like because we were staying close by. It is a small, simple, mom and pop sort of place. We've been three times (so far and my wife and I are the only two non-natives I've seen. The restaurant is busy with workers on break or at the end of the day, people coming back from shopping. The food is not complicated: chicken wings, chicken legs, pork ribs, minho, and fried potatoes. The food is very good, the meat is uniformly tasty and juicy. The homemade piri piri sauce provides a nice kick. This is the first and only place we've had minho and we love it (altho I'm still not 100% sure what it is(! . The prices are very good. Especially popular is the 1 wing and 1 beer deal for 1.30 Euros.

This review is for the newly opened Asinhas 2 in Caniço. We are very familiar with the popular As Asinhas in Funchal and after reading that the owners had opened a new restaurant/take away not far from our home we just had to pay a visit! This informal restaurant is spacious and has plenty of parking for its roadside location. The staff are friendly and attentive and most important of all the chicken and ribs are excellent! I highly recommend you pay them a visit and make sure you bring a healthy appetite!!

Wasn’t planning on stopping here, but drove by on accident and was meant to be..... one of the best places we have seen like this. The chicken was perfect and super yummy! The server from Venezuela was so kind and spoke good English. For €6 you get four huge pieces of chicken rice, veggies and fires. We will be back!

Love this place for €1 You get a small beer and a chicken wing brilliant the beer is always very cold and wings are fantastic ,I always have a few ones.Also does take always chips,chicken wings ,ribs different sauces my favorit piri piri defenetelly a place to go ,staff very friendly and prices really food
