By The Sea - Funchal

Fabulous fish once again. We came here about 3 years ago and had to visit again. This restaurant is always on our list when visiting Madeira. Good old fashioned, basic Portuguese food. Never many tourists, a very ‘local’ bar restaurant. Great value, fab food. I speak very little Portuguese, to the amusement of the owner, but he humours us and we have a great service. Thank you once again

My friend and I visited the restaurant twiceq during our stay. Lovely cozy restaurant serving very good food. Staff made us feel very welcome. If you are looking for a local and friendly spot with very good and fresh fish, then make sure you visit. We had Octobus, scabbard fish, bream and another local fish I can't remember- all freshly made and yummy

We have a favourite long walk and this restaurant is at the bottom of the steps down a cliff side. We found it on our first Madeira visit and return every time there after, Its appears basic which, for us, gives it more appeal. Sadly on each visit only our thirst was appeased, partly due to time of day but next time we must try the food.

Small local restaurant, friendly helpful service. This is typical regional food for seafood lovers. Nice atmosphere. Cheap and tasty. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Posizione informale e non molto bella, si mangia dell'ottimo pesce fresco, per provare sicuramente il tipico pesce locale l'espada cucinato in diverse ricette tutte buone e gustose. Una nota a parte le patate fritte davvero delizioso. I manager sono un po' burocratici all'inizio, ma poi si dissolvono e sono molto gentili!
