Velha Santa Restauração Lda - Funchal

The food was fabulous. We had the beef skewers and steak. The wine was lovely too. It was very busy and we had to wait a while to be served. We really enjoyed it. There were lots of flowers dropping from the trees above when we were sat outside. It was a beautiful evening.

Comida deliciosa, peixe fresquissimo. Atendimento óptimo. Recomendo vivamente.. a voltar certamente!

My friend and I thought we'd have a wander into town to find somewhere to eat. We walked through the street, all the restaurants were fully booked, apart from this one at the end so pleased there was a table for us. Food was delicious, service was good, even though they were VERY busy. Lovely ambience perfect setting, well recommended Special thanks to one of the waiting staff, Joanna, she was so lovely

Our annual visit to Funchal always includes a few visits to our favourite restaurant. Although they were very busy the staff were welcoming and friendly as usual. Excellent service and good food at reasonable prices in a great location in the Old Town what more could you ask for. Looking forward to our next visit.

Rather disappointed in my visit, given the reviews. Location is excellent, in the buzzing Old Town near the Fort. However, service was slow. They’re overworked. Halloumi salad was so-so. Beef skewers were OK. Wine was average. It wasn’t a memorable evening, which was a shame, given my excellent recent reviews of other Funchal resraurants. Can’t recommend it.
