I always have a bad aftertaste when I get kebabs from other places, so that's why I make the drive to get one from here. They really know how to make it perfectly, with the perfect balance of salad and meat.
I have mixed feelings about this restaurant. I sometimes order food from them, but I don't consider it the best or worst. I give them 5 stars because the older lady who works there is always kind to me and occasionally gives me extras for free.
There are not too many places to grab a quick bite when out at CostCo or Woolies at the airport. The kebabs here are quite hit or miss. We grabbed two on Saturday and the one made by the guy was quite good and full of fillings and the one made by the girl was literally less than half the size. Not terribly tasty when compared to other kebabs in the city. Hits the spot if you have to eat but not something that you would go out of your way for.
Situated within the Majura Park shopping centre food court, Origin Kebabs offer both lamb and chicken kebabs, plates and toasties. You'll pay about 9.50 for a lamb kebab roll and 9.70 for chicken. Whilst tasty, I found they were quite stingy with salads (even more measured than Subway!) and any sauce other than tomato, BBQ, sweet chilli or Mayo is extra.Standard salads are the usual lettuce, tomato, onion although they include carrot as well. Cheese, mushrooms and pineapple available for a dollar more. A good snack but not overly filling and not the best value I've found in Canberra.
Origin could improve by not serving large portions of pre-made salad that dries out and looks unappetizing. The kebabs are only average, and there are better options available for those seeking fresh dishes elsewhere.
