I had called to inquire about the wait time, which was none at that moment, but when we arrived there was a line out the door. I walked in and asked for an updated wait time and mentioned that I had called. They remembered me and were gracious enough to honor us with a table in less than 4 minutes. We had a veggie omelette, chocolate chip pancakes, French toast, Arnold palmer, and cookies and cream milkshake. The food was phenomenal. The restaurant is owned by a Palestinian family. The husband dropped by the table to check in and we got to talking a bit. He helps on the weekends. He confirmed the chicken and Turkey bacon is fully halal, as it was labeled on the packaging. The rest of the meats are not confirmed halal. The food was deliciously prepared. The pancakes were soft and melted in your mouth. The omelette was amazing I asked to add jalapenos and they accommodated. The hash browns were crispy and the coffee was smooth. By the way they said the menu was recently redone and there were new items added. All of us had a great time and will definitely go back more often. Parking: Parking is part of the strip mall Kid-friendliness: They handed out crayons, drawing pictures, and playdough to our little one.
This isn’t meant to be critical, but factual end is only my opinion based on my experiences, going to diners. The gentleman who greeted me was very pleasant. My coffee was brought quickly and my order taken shortly after that. The portions were very large however, my eggs felt glassy and I did inquire if they were powdered eggs or real eggs and was told they were real. I did like that they had real potatoes.Overall, I wasn’t dissatisfied. However, I wouldn’t make a return visit. Almost almost 4 dollars for a cuppa coffee. I understand the market is trending with higher price beverages.
We really like this diner, however, not so much today. We waited SEVERAL minutes to be acknowledged by our waitress, Amy who was playing with her tips at the register. When she came to the table, not one word to apologize for ignoring us. The server who actually delivers our food was great…you need more like him!!!!!
Food was great and the service was even better! Xavier was very friendly and made me the best sunrise mimosa ever! I’ve had Joy before and she’s a great waitress there as well! It’s family friendly and very clean! Will definitely be back!
Yes I would eat here again with the family and the kids. One of the only breakfast places in Gainesville.4 stars Here I give is equivalent to a B+. The service was excellent, large variety of menu choices, good portions. Parking was plentiful. Restrooms were very clean.I loved the friendly feel of a family restaurant and the down to earth friendly service with great food.I was neutral when we arrived as the location and atmosphere from the outside was a little questionable. The restaurant is located in the same shopping center as Dollar Tree, and a couple middle eastern shops. The inside setting feels like it used to be a Mexican food restaurant or something else. The restroom was a two stall well sized and looks renovated compared to the restaurant interior very pleased and unexpected. The food was terrific. I would say their pancakes were better than IHOP and their omelettes were fresh and well made.Make sure to ask for REAL butter otherwise they put some margarine type butter on top. The kids meals were reasonably priced at $3.99 per pancake or waffle and a dollar and some change for fruits and toppings no milk no sides.I am taking half a star for the atmosphere and half for the minor details of certain food ingredients.
