Market Cafe - GALIANO

Hurray! It's open again. The Galiano daystar market has a sweet cafe in the back that has been closed for years. It has reopened as an art gallery / store and cafe coffee bar. Hopefully it stays open during the cooler months too so the fireplace can be my favourite spot when visiting Galiano.

Sweet, well stocked store. We got food for a few days and found wine across the street. The coffee place looked good too though we didn't try it out.

For a little island with just over 1000 population this market offer a lot of reasonable price for organic produce. I missed the cafe.....

More than once we've popped in for a sandwich when shopping at Country Market, and the food and service are always dependable. Great if you want to put together a picnic lunch for eating in the harbour or on the beach! As for atmosphere; nah, you're in a corner of the grocery store for goodness sakes! It's a place to eat fast, or grab and run, but not gab!

This restaurant has now become our favorite restaurant on Salt Spring Island. My son was leery about trying the French onion soup gratineed with Jalapeno
