I thoroughly enjoyed my meal at this restaurant. The lemon grass tofu and yu choy with garlic were both bursting with delicious flavors. Adding extra chili oil made it even more delicious! I would definitely make it a point to dine here every time I visit Galveston.
The restaurant offered a variety of tofu dishes, with the waiter having good knowledge of vegan diets. They explained that the lemongrass tofu dish contained fish sauce, which we wanted to avoid. We also enjoyed mixed vegetable dishes and a flavorful rice noodle soup made with vegetable broth. The tofu spring rolls were fresh and delicious, as was the house special tofu dish. Overall, the food was satisfying and served in generous portions.
I would have given this restaurant 5 stars, but...We decided to try this place after reading the reviews. Thanks, guys...kind of. We really enjoyed the lemongrass tofu that was suggested, only to later discover that it is NOT VEGAN. It is made with fish sauce. However, we were informed that the fried tofu is indeed vegan because they use separate oil for meat and vegan dishes. The flame-broiled tofu is also delicious and vegan. The food is well-seasoned and overall very tasty.
Even though this place is mostly known for it’s pho, there are a lot of other vegan options on the menu. There’s an entire section for tofu dishes, and another one for just veggie dishes. The portions are pretty large as well. I recommend the tofu spring rolls or the sesame tofu!
