They can make most tacos vegan. my fried oyster mushroom Vietnamese style taco was super fresh, tasteful and delicious! the sticky salty aubergine was addicted. so welcoming and ready to help vegan customers navigate the menu. only fabulous!
First off-total 5 stars, but since it is not 100% vegan 4 the max is allowed. when they go to galveston or just love tacos, make sure they are here for lunch. go early because the line can be long and they will sell out. we had made the baja and the Vietnamese tacos with fried mushrooms vegan. both were delicious. I think the vietnameses were a little better, but my daughter thinks that's a bit more than that. So you can't go wrong with a choice. each taco had another taste. they were also homemade. I think one was avocado, but I can't remember the others. there are inside and outside seats, but the beach is just a short walk away. In addition we have tweeper rings that came with what we would describe as spicy marinara, but was listed as ketchup. astonishing to spice on the thorn rings. we also got the pickled (seasonal) vegetables and they were really good. we visited in the jump break and it happened also st. patrick’s day, so the line was very long. since everything is to be ordered, this is not a fast moving line. Stay on. the tacos are worth waiting!
So...I can’t give a five star rating because it’s not ALL vegan?? Lame. They deserve a million stars!! Any place that can take their menu and adapt it to be vegan is simply spectacular. The Empire tacos were so good we ordered another order after our first try!! We have loved Chef since she was at another location with a different name. It’s been ages and she remembered us!! And, it isn’t everywhere the people that you are with says “I’ll come here again and try your plate!”, when they are from Dallas and having one of each already
I asked what they could make vegan and they seemed very knowledgeable. I ordered 2 vegan tacos please. I took the food to go, when I got to the beach it looked as though they gave me squid. Just tossed it. Very disappointed. Never seen a plant based protein that looked like squid. They had a really accommodating vibe though.
