La Piazza - Gateshead

Fantastic restaurant with very authentic Italian food. We visited with a group of friends and had a wonderful evening. Great value for money. Some in our party are from London and couldn’t believe how affordable the food was for such good quality. The restaurant decoration makes you feel like you are on holiday. Highly recommend for anyone looking to celebrate with friends in a relaxed and attentive setting.

Great restaurant and attentive owner. Last visited this restaurant about 25 years ago when I lived local to it and it was a true blast from the past. A true traditional Italian with excellent thin crust pizzas. My friends and I will visit again.

A low fell institution. Wonderful authentic Italian food and the best staff. Highly recommend, will go again.

Lovely rustic Italian restaurant. Staff very welcoming. Had potato skins to start and then half pizza, half pasta (Hawaiian pizza and Amatriciana pasta). Both delicious but the pizza was especially good, traditional thin crust. Was a Tuesday when we went in, did delivery too but hope the place gets more sit down custom. Very good value for money!

Absolutely disgusted in this restraunt. Placed an order around 6.45pm via uber eats for myself and my child as I had just got out of hospital and needed something quick and easy. Waited over 2 hours and heard nothing, called them and was met by a extremely rude Abbey with a vile attitude. She casually said could I not collect it as that is the only way I could get it told her no. Then said well there is nothing I can do I asked her to clarify my options and if I was getting the food or not. She said no sooner than 10pm for a order I made at 6.45 as if this is acceptable). Was told to cancel the order via uber eats, the resteraunt then cancelled it and charged me denying a refund claiming They had already made the food. They have stolen this money from me and have no intention to rectify it. No apology, no refund, no customer service. They must think £25 is worth their reputation and a loss of customers! Please avoid this place as they think its ok during a cost of living crisis to steal peoples money and not provide orders.
