When I head up to the cottage I often stop in to stock up on meals for the weekend. The staff are always welcoming and offer suggestions on new items. Thanks Thrive!!
We were staying the weekend at the Delawana and decided to go to this café for some afternoon treats and coffee. We decided on some butter tarts and gluten free date squares. We did love the date squares but unfortunately the butter tarts were a disappointment. I assume when the pastry for the tarts cooked they had bubbled up on the bottom and when the tarts were filled they were not able to add much filling. So the tarts were mostly just made of thick pastry. The coffee was also pretty tasteless. We did go in the next morning to let them know that we were disappointed with the tarts and the gentleman behind the counter kinda just shrugged his shoulders and said “oh”.
I own a cottage north of HH and sometimes need to go into town for supplies. Thrive is a place I always visit on those trips. The coffee is great, the snacks are delicious, and the staff is always incredibly friendly. I've noticed they offer frozen takeout meals, but I haven't had the chance to try them yet. I'll have to do that soon.
This is a compact space that serves excellent quality coffee, tea, baked goods, and has amazing take home frozen foods. They have nick knacks, and even some amazing original art by a local artist. They also have prints, gift cards, and other treasures. The artist has some work online at lhayward.com I am so happy to see Honey Harbour stepping up their game in a big way to become a must see destination when out and about. .
We have a cottage in the area and we stop almost every weekend on our way to the marina to pick up the frozen cheddar filled burgers and other awesome food from the freezer at Thrive which our cottage guests always love. Then we grab a cookie or a tart and a beverage and head to the boat. It's also our favourite place for a morning latte and a pastry or a sandwich at lunch. The kids who work behind the counter are always keen and friendly and the owners treat you like long time friends. The owners have cottaged in the area their whole lives and the kids they hire have also grown up cottaging in the area so they are a wealth of knowledge to new cottage owners like us or visitors to the area. LOVE the food, LOVE the energy - it's a must-visit place if you are in Honey Harbour.
