The Royal - Gilgandra

There’s a fantastic free camping area behind the pub, conveniently located near shops. The staff at the pub are friendly, the dining room is nice, and the music is enjoyable. However, the 'fresh' vegetables that were advertised turned out to be 100% frozen, similar to the fish and chips. My hamburger was flavorful but arrived lukewarm and had a mushy texture, accompanied by a small handful of barely warm chips. I would consider staying here again, but I might just opt to drink at the bar.

During our journey south, we stopped at this restaurant and enjoyed one of the best meals of our 12-day trip. The staff were incredible—nothing was too much trouble, and they were so friendly. This charming pub created wonderful memories for us, and I highly recommend it to everyone. It would be hard to find a better meal or service anywhere else. Kudos to the owners and employees for a fantastic experience!

Had the fish and chips and the batter wasn't crispy and the fish bland. the steamed veges were average. nice service, cold beer but wasn't very impressed with the food.

Gilgandra was high on my bucket list due to its history. I hope the town is reinvented or reinvigorated somehow. It needs more tourists flowing through.
