Oscar Kitchen - Glasgow

They have a decent vegan menu and would be a nice place for brunch and cocktails (we just opted for tap water this visit). I'd seen on social media ages ago when they first opened they were going to have vegan options. However, I would say that the only reason I knew I would have options to eat was by looking at the website in advance, we were given their regular brunch menu on arrival with no marked vegan options and would otherwise have been unaware they had a vegan menu. The menu is quite mushroom heavy and I don't like mushrooms, so I asked if I could switch them in the Vegan Eggs for potato but chef said no. I went with the Green Burger, one of the few mushroom-less options, which had suspected was going to literally be a slab of tofu between a bun. The bun was nice, and I got to sample the pancakes which my mum got, and these were really really nice. We had to wait around 40 minutes for our food, through it was really, really busy. The tables are quite close together but as it was so busy you couldn't hear the people sitting next to you. I'd definitely recommend making an advanced reservation. I didn't receive a bill when the card machine was brought over so presumed the excess than I expected was a service charge but I see from another review it was extra cost for the pancake toppings, which wasn't clear on the menu.

The sourdough and the coffee were good, but that is where the compliments end. The huevos rancheros had no seasoning whatsoever, the salsa was just bitter herbs that had been mixed with oil. This was quite possibly the most disappointing breakfast I had ever had. As a professional chef of 12 years I was quite stunned that something so half assed had been served to me. The service was quite lacking. The boy with the baseball cap struggled to remember our drinks order (two teas and a latte), so I had to ask twice to finally get the latte. Unfortunately we will not be back. I know this venue is looking for a new head chef, I hope they find a good one soon as they badly need one.

There seemed to be new waiting staff or something. Food was fine, service wasn't great. Our chips and salad didn't arrive. A bit disappointed on this occasion.

It was a nice place, but really busy and loud, music in the background did not help. Eating was a bit cold, but delicious.

Our experience in this restaurant was great! we have three different dishes and all were very delicious and also very valuable. the coffee was also very good and we enjoyed the music playlist that played
