However, there's room for improvement in their take on traditional German cuisine, as dishes like the curry sausage and apple strudel stray quite a bit from the authentic preparations.
This restaurant is the first microbrewery of its kind in the city and, most importantly, the first to adhere to the strict German Beer Purity Law of 1516. If you're a fan of Oktoberfest, keep reading! Let’s explore their beers. It’s fantastic—being a brewery means you can ask the friendly staff behind the bar to sample each of their draft beers before committing to a pint or two! You might expect a focus on hearty Bavarian flavors. I visited here many years ago and had their fish and chips, pork, and apple strudel with ice cream, all of which were excellent. The veggie burger and the chorizo pork burger are also perfect for soaking up the beer, along with their brunch options. Overall, the combination of great beer and the unique atmosphere of this establishment—housed in the historic Templeton Carpet Factory building by Glasgow Green—makes it a truly special place.
Eating in the west on the green was very good. we found the server friendly and very service oriented to be. that was delicious we tried several entries that we had never eaten before the portions were healthy and were well seasoned. it was an excellent dining experience. the only negatiw was that we had a difficult time to find the place that goggle maps seduced us, but it was worth the aggravation.
Excellent fish and chip with west flight for 4 animals of their choice. baked hake ratatouille is beautiful with fresh vegetables with rosmarin, baked carrots and brot, west dipping steak are beautifully cooked with crispy chips and salat. it is so beautifully decorated and organized restaurant with great selection of beer for its pleasure. black west is the beer I liked most, as it is full with dark chocolate and malty aromas with hauch of bitterness.
We had a great experience here. Super friendly staff, delicious beers (I got a flight of 4 of their own beers which came in 1/3 pints of each), amazing and tasty German food, all at a great price! The curry wurst was super flavorful and they were nice enough to let us upgrade our fries to jager fries, and wow the jager sauce was fantastic! The spatzle with smoked cheese was excellent as well. The hall was very large and the tables were well spaced. We will definitely be returning in the warmer months to take advantage of the great location on the green!
