Events At Salishan Resort - Gleneden

This was our first time......food was absolutely delicious. The turkey was so tender, and seasoned to perfection......the salmon blew us away with its freshness and flavor. All the side dishes were great. The whole staff was exceptionally friendly. Our only complaint was the price....$65.00 per person, plus they add on a 20% tip, non-negotiable. A little steep for the middle class family. But you are getting a great Thanksgiving dinner, that is traditional. And 2 days later, I was wishing I could go back and fill up my plate one more time. So yes, I would recommend the Salishan Thanksgiving buffet, if someone had never been before. But would I return again, now that I have been there? Probably not, just because of the price.

We were disappointed with the Thanksgiving buffet at Salishan. We expected a buffet befitting Salishan's reputation as one of the premier Oregon coast resorts. What we got was limited selection of the usual dishes with little creativity or originality. Quality was average at best. No attempt was made to provide any ambiance in the meeting room that was used for the buffet. The service, on the other hand, was terrific.

The meal was incredibly over priced (65.00) for what was on the menu. The atmosphere was no different than that of an employment related conference type setting. Perhaps because the meal was served in a conference room.

We love attending the Thanksgiving buffet. The salmon was excellent but the turkey and dressing were very mediocre. We seemed a little lost in the large room. A chocolate dessert, besides the excellent truffles would have been nice. The soup was excellent.

I wanted to stay at the weekend in this resort and eat, that didn't happen. we had valentine night reservations, we sat at 630 o'clock. we have fast water, wee, broth and salate and then nothing else. the people came in after us and were finished eating and we were still waiting for our escape, which was the special of the day. About 8 o'clock, our server apologised and said our meal would be compiled so that we wait further. at 845, without eating, out of water and weeping, we rose up and went. local opposing stop serving around 9 o'clock and we wanted to make sure we could eat somewhere at this point. they have our meals on the hotel reservation, but that was useless as our escape never arrived. do not let them visit this restaurant again.
