Kathmandu Palace - Glenelg

The single worst dining experience I've had in Adelaide. Food is fairly good, but staff continually ignored our table, we had to flag down each time to order food, and further drinks. Mains took 1.5 hours to arrive, far longer than is reasonable. Entrees plates sat on our table for half an hour before they were cleared away at out request. No apologies by the staff for the delays, and didn't appear to be packed out. If the service was up to level of food quality it might have been worth returning to, but I definitely won't be going back.

Delicious food and lovely hospitality. Have wanted to come here for a while and I'm really glad we did. Very nice atmosphere inside too, gorgeous old building.

Not Good. Recently moved back from Asia. Hoping to find a good local. Ordered the goat bahra masala and chicken Kukhura. Both were watery and tough. Sorry - not good but honest.

We really like this place! My husband and I have been here a few times and we always end up ordering the banquet for two. The food is served steaming hot, and is tasty and authentic. The staff are very well organised and are ready to assist you with whatever you need. I think we paid around $120 (with a drink) each time we visited, which is reasonable for a special dinner - not great if you want a quick meal, which often we do. Perhaps it would be a lot cheaper if you ordered a couple of dishes and shared...not sure. If you know a lot of people in the area and want privacy, I would probably go somewhere else. The tables are quite close together, which is good because it gives a nice warm, cosy feeling, but bad if you want an intimate meal together. I would definitely recommend the Kathmandu Palace!!!
