A small selection of vegan food is available every day. There is not much choice, but at least you can go there know that there is something vegan friendly.
Happy to see “vegan available” promotion on the pavement I'm just in this cafe. But the staff first had to ask in the kitchen what they had to offer. It turned out that they had two spicy options: falafel wrap 11,50 NZD and a potato veggie salad for 11, NZD. I ordered the salad and asked if they could add some falafel eggs. They did for extra costs, which is completely okay. The meal was good, the stuff friendly, but they should definitely reconsider their attitude about promoting vegan options and the stuff is not up to date.
On the way to Cannibal Bay there was a really good coffee and an authentic chai. Unfortunately there were no vegan options on the menu, only on request, I asked if they could make the porridge with Soy Milk and they could not see any other options that could be made vegan.
I went with a friend two times, once just for a coffee on the way and water bottle refill and on the way back for a brunch. Well really nice staff, accommodating for weird requirements . The food was so good, maybe a bit strange for my taste having maple syrup with frittata! a little bit more greens on the side would have been even better. The dessert, slices are not too expensive and really good. Definitely a good stop to cross the country! Cheers
