Mashed potato portion was great for a 5 year old. Brocolli was COLD! Child mac-cheese looked like it had 90% velveeta and 2% macaroni; our 5 yr old wasn't able to eat it. Cooks looked pretty clueless and would touch raw meat, then salad lettuce without changing gloves. Two of the female servers were very busy joking and laughing outloud with each other as they stood near the kitchen neglecting their tables. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL creating a barely bearable experience. Felt bad for our waiter who was great but looked out of place as he was professional. They try to create a faux fine dining experience, then expect a big tip for subpar food. Need training from real professionals.
It is located near bright angel lodge/trail. We dined here after hiking bright angel trail, I didn't expect it will that good as it is inside national park. Steak was really good, and service is quick.
Service was horrible! I ordered the Surf and Turf and my 3 shrimp were burnt and over cooked. Waited forever for food. Had to ask the waiter for bread as our dinner was served and his reply when I asked him why others had bread and we didn 't was Because you didn 't ask for it! As a server myself I know this is the last thing management wants of their staff! Servers should offer everything they have as it is available to the guest. I also had to insist on a salad before my entree and his reply was It is al a carte . My reply back was Yes. I am aware that it is al a carte. Can I please have the salad which I 'm attempting to order before my entree? Coming from an area (Paso Robles) where wine is served, I asked for a sample of two of the wines before I committed to something for dinner and the server told me I could only try one. I ended up getting a glass of Sauvignon Blanc with my salad and a class of Cabernet Sauvignon with dinner of which I had to buy in the blind because the one sample he would allow....I didn 't like. He got everyone else at my table a drink and when it came to me getting my wine I had to hound him all night for his attention. Clearly not the type of restaurant that pays attention to detail. Towards the end of our dinner a disgruntled guest waiting to be seated was clearly agitated as he and front house hosts got into a heated discussion. It got rather loud and uncomfortable. Had it not been so busy and bustling more jaws would have dropped. Not a good dinner and especially not for the $300+ that we dropped for the overpriced food.
Was ok, but nothing to write home a about. The hostess didnt want to seat us next to the window over looking the Grand Canyon when there were two free tables. She said that those were for reservations only. They were for 2 people and reservations could only be made for 5 people or more. I insisted on being sat by the window. She finally obliged after mumbling under her breath. Food was only ok. They only had 1 seasonal vegetable, snap peas.... had the prime rib which was good, but the bread sucked and so did the dill mashed potatoes, which you couldn't taste the dill.
This place was the equivalent of a bad acid trip. We went to the Grand Canyon while we visited Sedona, and thought this place was a good spot to eat since it 's one of few options next to the Grand Canyon. However, it deserved one star in all of the the basic rating categories. The waiter asked my girlfriend if she had a rough day after she asked him to reiterate what he had just mumbled while leaning on a chair five feet away from us. We ordered two burger/fries. We both ordered medium rare but received what looked and tasted like a McDonalds hamburger. Then once we finished our meal, he stops by and slams the receipt on our table without saying anything. Didn 't ask us if we wanted anything else or dessert. While we got ready to go, we heard him talking to the table next to us about how he was just waiting for us to leave so he could use the table for more customers. We eat out a lot and have experienced below average service here and there, but this was awful. If you go to the Grand Canyon, eat before hand and bring snacks.
