Great food and view! (Translated by Google) Good food and view!
This is the absolute best for the freshest seafood on the north coast of Ireland. Simple ingredients, sourced locally and served within hours of the catch. You never know the special of the day as its caught just off the shore. We had lemon sole with traditional champ (mashed potatoes mixed with scallions softened in milk). The restaurant is located just off the ramp from the Lough Foyle ferry so its an easy trip from the Causeway coast. Only issue is the seating is a little hard, otherwise one of my favourite places for lunch.
Thank you to Owen and his staff in Kealeys Seafood Bar Greencastle Co Donegal for an absolutely fabulous meal tonight which I won in a Facebook competition. We were greeted and made feel most welcome by Owen. The menu is superb and even if you are not a fish eater there are other choices on the menu too . My husband and I both love fish so I had Tian of crab to start and Pan roasted Turbot with colcannon and hollandaise sauce. For dessert I had Tonka and Tequila ice -cream which was delicious. My husband had Greencastle chowder , grilled fillet of John Dory and Creme brûlée for dessert . Let me add that Owen also brought us beautiful breads and dips to start and in Between our starter and main course he appeared with Lemon sorbet. We have ate in many fish Restauraunts here in Ireland and abroad but I really have to say that Kealeys Seafood Bar in Greencastle out shines them all. I definitely recommend you eat there when you are visiting Inishowen. Check out their superb menu on their Facebook page and also the menu is fantastic value for the quality of food that you shall receive. Thank you Owen once again for the most beautiful meal and your hospitality. We will see you soon again .
Fantastic spot for lunch or dinner! Sitting by the window you can watch the water whilst enjoying fabulous Greencastle chowder or amazing smoked salmon platter served with lovely homemade wheaten bread. Delicious thoroughly recommended!
