Gave the food a one star as we never got to try it. Advice: lower the menu flair, increase the menu choices and lower the price by about 50%. They also do not offer menus at the table. Just a card with a QR code to pull the menu up on your phone. That’s annoying. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
From the service to the atmosphere Ford+Shep is a great restaurant in the downtown area of Greenville. But let me speak about the food. I was able to enjoy the bison bacon meatballs with an exquisite pesto sauce. My dining companions both had fantastic meals as well. Pork chop marinated in sweet tea and the melon salad with added grilled shrimp really made the meal perfect for all. Oh I almost forgot. We started off the meal with their cheese board. All of the samplings were amazing. If you were visiting from out of town like myself this is definitely a must-stop. Went here for wife's bday 8/2. Dined inside and it was loud, couldn't carry on a conversation without talking very loud. Food was tasty but paella was soupy and dripped on my shirt. Ordered a malbec by the glass and it was tasteless like it had been open for days. Our server replaced it without issue. This was the 3rd time we dined here and not up to previous two times. Definitely on the high end, but worth every penny. Cool atmosphere, and decor, and as soon as you come in to the main dining room, you vaguely smell that wood fire oven! Covered outdoor area was cool too even though it was 80degrees outside. Feels like your in a greenhouse, but it’s not hot. They had a huge wine selection, and the cocktails and food menus are always rotating. We had a dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives (delish), the chicken skin chicharones (so good, but a little spicy), the cheese plate with marinated peaches, and local honey comb (amazing), grilled ribeye was great, and so were the pork and lamb belly bolognese on their house-made fettuccini, and the barbecue chicken (it was literally an entire chicken half). Decaf coffee with whipped cream and Irish cream and pound cake with warm peaches finished ya off. Good craft beers too and super friendly staff. My only complaint was this one watermelon cocktail (called a TFM or something like that) which tasted like dishwater, but they took it off the tab and gave me another martini in its place. You gotta try this place guys!!!
