Today, I went in to buy lunch for my children and once again, I am extremely disappointed with their service. It seems like they only do this when you order takeout. When I contacted them about the issue, they told me to return the food, but I live in North Greenwich. This level of service is completely unacceptable.
We visited here today and find this place unhygienic rude staff and unacceptable customer service as we were forced to pay cash as this place do not accept card am sure they are doing VAT scam and not paying accurate tax to HMRC, aswell when we ask for till receipt they avoided to give us and gave some hand return receipt in chinese language, the food portion was very good I will appreciate the food portion, when we ask for the food container as we spare some food to take away the lady keep asking for £1.50 as she extra even she overcharged me 50p on my bill, and keep running after us for £1.50 for food container again again so we have to stop her asking for the money as we did not even finish our meal. I would never go here again would not recommend to go here too.
Fast forward about twenty years and there were only a few noodle restaurants in London, such as Wagamama and Tai Won Mein, as well as Tai Tip Mein. Tai Won Mein and Tai Tip Mein are known for their large portions at affordable prices. I decided to revisit these restaurants to see how their quality is these days. I went to Tai Tip Mein, located in Woolwich Dockyards, after the branch in Elephant and Castle recently closed down. The staff at Tai Tip Mein were excellent, as they were likely second-generation British Born Chinese who spoke English fluently. I ordered the plain fried noodles, which are similar to curly instant noodles that I planned to compare with Tai Won Mein later. In the past, these curly noodles were not offered. The noodles arrived quickly after ordering, and each strand was evenly colored and had a nice wok aroma. They weren't oily, but the charred flavor was quite strong. Adding chili sauce enhanced the dish even more. As previously mentioned, the portions were huge and could easily feed two and a half people.
My family and I went to this restaurant for dinner. They only accept cash, which is fine, but be cautious when receiving your change. I was given an old, worn-out 50 pence coin as change, and when I brought it back to the cashier to exchange it, she accused me of lying. It's important to double check your change to avoid receiving unusable, old coins.
