Shoney's - Gretna

It has been forever since I've been to Shoney's. I service it was great.... it's just a little different when you have to wait in line and let them serve you instead of you serving yourself. However the experience was pleasant and the food was satisfying...... give them a try. The food is still the same. Good then and good now

Good to see this Shoney's is still around. I enjoy eating here. The waitress here is always super friendly. The food on the buffet is good. For my biscuit, I like my options ... Sausage gravy, white gravy, cheese, butter, jelly, or plain (and syrup always end up on the biscuit). I saw a lady fill her plate with bacon, and then even more bacon...she knew what she likes. That is the beauty of the Shoney's buffet

Waitress is Awesome and the food cheers me up. Update: Breakfast bar was constantly being refreshed. Being one of the last Shoney's around, I feel we as a community should really support this lone standout. Best breakfast around and all you can eat!!

Our server was great, kept my coffee filled but didn't bother us too much. I didn't get her name which was my bad. It was Sunday church rush so it was just my friend and I and seating was easy. I had the all star breakfast and it was yummy. I got extra eggs and sausage. My tea was strong which I liked. Besides it being a little loud, which made conversation a little hard, it was pleasant. The parking lot is a little wonky but if everyone else actually parked straight, there wouldn't have been any problems. All in all it was really nice.

We should have known as soon as we saw that the doors were open that's something was wrong. The AC wasn't working, so it was overly warm and sticky during our stay. The salad/fruit bar is not what it used to be, very limited. They don't stay on top the trays when it comes to replenishing them. My son had gotten red beans and rice from the hot bar and the problem was that the beans were dry there wasn't enough liquid and even a waitress commented on it. I began to unwrap my silverware and noticed that the utensils were caked with dry food. I was asked by shoney's to please give them a second chance and this was their second chance. The first time we went was bad, the second time was even worse, there won't be a third time. And it's a shame because we used to go to shoney's all the time at least five times a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
