Nearby Tor Bay beach is excellent to walk and beach comb. Great kayaking coastline. Inn has a dining room for guests offering local cuisine and has a good breakfast selection. If you have "found" this place, you must be out on a tour away from stress!
This was the final stop in our tour of Nova Scotia, from the UK, back in May and early June. Talk about leaving the best until last: for reasons I won't go into, we arrived a day early at Charlos Cove and were delighted we did.The proprietors could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The rooms were brilliant. The food was excellent. The surroundings, views and possibilities for "wandering" are just perfect. The dogs are lovely, there's good music and the bookshelves include a whole section on the Franklin Expedition: what could be better? We wish we could have stayed longer, and are just sorry this review has been delayed.Thank you for our welcome.
A charming Inn located right on the edge of the sea. We had a room in the main house overlooking the sea and extensive garden. The owners were really lovely and very welcoming. We enjoyed a very nice dinner and breakfast and our room was very well furnished and presented. There are some nice lounge areas in which to sit. The bed was comfortable with crisp white linens. One minor downside is that the bedroom walls are not adequately sound proofed. Partition walls such as these should have insulation in the studding and two layers of plasterboard either side.
We stopped in the Seawind Landing for one night only. Our room was their least expensive, it was small in size but clean and nicely furnished. Dinner was excellent, with mostly fresh seafood on the menu and prices were reasonable. Breakfast was also very good and included with you accommodation.
We decided to spend a second night here because the hosts and the overall ambiance they provide are so genuine and delightful. David is a superb chef who uses the best of local produce. The grounds and waterfront are spacious and well-kept. The furnishings and accountrements are tasteful and well planned. Our longer stay allowed us to slow down and explore more intimately this part of The Nova Scotia Eastern Shore.
